New week and another new Gym

Treadmill HW 2.07.16 TRX and plank HW 7.05.16

The gym I went to last week was good, Equipment was great and modern, plenty of energy in the gym, Classes were great and nice and close to home.

New Gym this week Healthworks at Cleveland Brisbane Australia.  At first Glance looked a bit old and tired, but lets not judge the book by its cover.

Gym was cold cold cold – I am used to going to a gym that has climate control 22 degrees Celsius not 6  Whoa…….

Did a body pump class today seemed the same one as last week – room was full last week at GL today 5 people…. was cold though.

People are really friendly – probs more so than GL – Any way that was day one at HW

My 23rd Wedding anniversary today – happy anniversary to my beautiful wife 🙂

    Day 2 at new Gym HW RPM Class Cycle

    Instructor was nice as was the one at GL and the class good as was the one at GL. Room was like the rest of the gym, a bit tired had to put folded paper under the bike to stabilise it mmm.

    Was met with a familiar greeting smile Ashley from another gym in the past.

    I found the class good and burned nearly 500 cals was a bit confused for a bit with race resistance and stuff like that but figured it out – I am going to ad cycle/RPM to my weekly workout plan.

    The hard part here at this gym is the timing of the classes fifteen minutes later which puts me behind the 8 ball a bit, but doable I just have to adjust.

    Tomorrow I am going to do one of my normal routines like last week to see how I go

    Day 3 of 10 no gym

    What happened tooo cold and had a lateish night last night with the AGM windsurfing club. Got voted in as Social Director – sounds good just have to find out what SD does lol they made it sound easy.

    Anyway the beast in me lost out today to lazy bad ass me stayed in bed til 6am woo hoo.

    Will make the effort to get there tomorrow.

    Dam I have taken my eye off the prize – a fitter, thinner hotter me (I know that is hard but….) lol

    What is the Prize for me
    – Health need to keep those lungs working
    – Fitness for my sport of Windsurfing (windsurfinglearningcurve.com)
    – Keeping my mind alert, active and quick
    – most importantly my beautiful family 3 wonderful kids and 6 beautiful grandies Love ’em to bits

    What is your prize????

    Lets get motivated and get to the gym tomorrow morning

    Day 4 of 10 at new gym
    RPM – phew I realised the other day for me to get the most out of these classes I really need to push my limits – if I don’t then there is not much point in going really…..

    It is not a social gathering it a gym and I am there to get fit and healthy – need to keep that top of mind

    Day 5 or 10 at new gym

    Got some photos have put them up in main section of Treadmill and TRX area

    Today was a Morg’s workout
    – Xtrainer – pretty weird machine no where near as much movement to the ones I have been using but spent 10 mins and the calourie counter didn’t work
    – Bosa Ball squats 3 sets
    – x over sit ups 3 sets of 30 that is 15 each side
    – Bosa ball push ups 3 sets
    – TRX 3 sets of 15 pull ups
    – plank 3 x 1 minute
    – Rowing machine didn’t have the grunt to the ones I am used to (there is a bit to be said for updated equipment)
    – Treadmill – I think the treadmill came off the ark (reminds me of the old bodyfocus gym) anyway spent 25mins here and smashed out 300 cals and 3 running sessions 1 x 1 min, 1 x 4 mins and 1 x 5 mins at 9. I am happy with that.

    Home by 9.30 and wife is carrying on that it is lunchtime – she wasn’t even out of bed when I left for the gym

    Oh well fun for all as JR would say

    Was a good work out – plenty of pain – go hard or go home they say

    Wow…… on a side note one of my work colleagues died of a Heart attack just on the week end – I was speaking with him on Thursday – he was my age but smoked and not very fit…..My condolences go out to his family. What a devastating event for any family.

    We really need to work harder as we grow older to make the effort, if not for ourselves but for the people who love us, our family and friends.

    Mel did a good job of reminding me why I am there – when we were doing long sprints it’s like when fully locked in and planning 20+ knots on, what seems lika a magic carpet ride across the water, windsurfing. My weekend calorie burn (wind permitting)

    I came out from the gym and had to sit in the car for a few minutes to regain my composure.

    THAT’S WHY WE GO TO THE GYM – NOT TO MAKE FRIENDS – NOT FOR THE SOCIAL THING – NOT FOR ANYTHING ELSE BUT TO GET LEAN, FIT AND AS HEALTHY AS WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER THAT

    I am a fat bastard and have been for probably 20 years – living right here in Australia which has just been deemed to having fatest population in the world.

    It is our decision when we go to the gym as to what we do, what level of effort we give – to be fair to ourselves 100% is where we should be aiming always phew….. Makes it worth it really

    7th of July and day 9 at the gym HW

    WHAT!!! 99.5 KILOS – How does that work………………

    Ok what has happened
    – first of all no windsurfing because no wind on the weekends again – plenty during the week. 2 things here 1, no high intensity exercise from sport and 2, movie and tooo many biscuits
    – secondly my work has moved and instead of getting the incidental exercise every day of walking half a k to work, I now have a park at the front door.
    – Thirdly, I have been having an extra coffee with the coffee guy who comes to work most mornings
    – Forth, most mornings at work also, now I am in the main building, they have cake and yep I am up for a piece – that’s paying off
    – Finally the first time weighing myself at this gym – new scales

    Morgan’s workout for today was
    – X Trainer for 10 mins burnt 130 cals
    – Sit ups with 5kg medicine ball 3 sets of 15 over the head to toes with ball
    – Bosa ball squats 3 sets of 15 the last 2 with the 5kg medicine fall out in front
    – Plank 3 x 1 minute
    – Treadmill for 15 mins burnt 200+ cals and managed to run for five minutes at 9 Nice

    Man and I nearly didn’t go – had just about talked myself into aborting today’s gym activities. I couldn’t decide what I was going to do and that was nearly enough to shut it down. Who else suffers from lack of motivation at time.

    Tomorrow will be RPM again with Matt – will have to put 110% effort for maximum burn

    We gota get this shit done

    8th of July Day 10 last day

    Am I going to chose this gym or the other – well friendly faces and ok environment I am doing it

    RPM pheffft…. should be called SMB – Smash my body………………lol

    Push hard til you can’t push anymore then push harder – man I pushed that hard today I had to take my glasses off was sweating all over them.

    I feel as a cardio workout, Cycle/RPM is a good class not only do you get to work out on the bike thingo but someone out the front giving you a bit of a push

    Cool bananas get out there and exercise everyone 🙂
