New beginnings at the gym

Yep made it yesterday and today – work got in the way on Tuesday

Was RPM yesterday with the amazing Mel – she ran an old class of some sort said it will get us going and that was true to form.

A fantastic workout on the bike thingos for sure.

Today Thursday – was random day 

Treadmill 5min warm up

TRX – pull ups 3 x 12 – I need to strengthen my shoulders for water starts

TRX – Jump Squats 3 x 12

Push ups – yeap boring old push ups – shoulders remember

Lat machine (I think that is what it is called) was heavy 3 x 15

Row – weights 3 x 12 was fairly heavy

Tricep pull down with rope handle 3 x 12

Squats – boring old squats 3 x 15

Rowing machine for sprints – was suppossed to be 4 x 500 metre sprints but ended up 5 x 200m (watch this space for improvement)

Warm down on the treadmill

Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seeing stars again – got home to make coffee and was shaking so much got it everywhere lol

Garmin says I burnt 534Cals – not bad – didn’t know what setting to put it on for all of that so put it on Cardio

    Made it in under 45mins Thats right 6K Friday

    Treadmill day – for a while now I have been doing 6K on the treadmill on Fridays hence ‘6K Friday’ normally struggle to make it in under 45 mins. (Photo on Instagram to prove it (old_fit_and_losing_weight))Today I did ok – not only did I do it ok but crikey smashed out some short sprints at 12 whatevers speed on the dial. Sat on 10 for my long runs I do it because I need to keep my lungs working as they are a bit dodgy according to the Doc. Normally I run at 9.5 but today I upped it to 10 WooHoo 4 or 5 years ago I couldn’t do 8 for any longer then 20 seconds. So you guys and girls out there with dodgy lungs it is possible to work those babies into a fairly acceptable state and keep them there.

    I was diagnosed as to having 48% lung capacity – not the case anymore – I got things I want to do, kids and beautiful grand kids I want to see how they grow – no time for bein’ crook I can tell ya……………. Plus I need them to go windsurfing – hard to stay out there with dodgy lungs – in fact one of the guys we windsurf with has actually had a full lung transplant and smashes it out there on the water. How good are we – that deserves a smiley face 🙂

    So it means a lot to me when I get things going on the treadmill on anything over 8 for 20 seconds – all I did was believe that I could do it and I am – so can you……………..
